WASHINGTON – In response to Leader Jeffries and House Democrats leading the charge on passing the ACA discharge petition after months of grassroots pressure on healthcare, MoveOn Civic Action Executive Director Katie Bethell released the following statement:
“Thanks to millions of calls, texts, and emails from people nationwide, the House forced through a successful vote to expand ACA subsidies and stop our premiums from rising even higher. Americans struggling to afford health care and premium spikes have no patience for continued inaction. Trump and Republicans should be working with Democrats to end the healthcare crisis they created, but instead they’re spending taxpayer money on warfare. MoveOn members will not back down and will keep pushing lawmakers to lower costs and fix our broken healthcare system.”
