Biden and Dems Protect the Country From MAGA Default Extremism
Washington – In response to the passage of the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023, MoveOn Political Action Executive Director Rahna Epting released the following statement:
“President Biden and Democrats did the work both to stop a MAGA-led push for default that would have dragged America into a terrible recession, and to prevent MAGA Republicans from gutting the social and economic progress that MoveOn members have fought for over the last two years. The budget deal that President Biden secured is by no means perfect, but it protects jobs, veterans’ benefits, the Inflation Reduction Act’s historic climate change investments, and lifesaving health care benefits, while mostly preserving the social safety net. Republicans may hope that this vote wipes away their efforts to gut the progress that we’ve fought for, but we will not let voters forget what they voted for.”
MoveOn continues its campaign to unseat the vulnerable Republican House members in swing districts who have been enabling MAGA extremism at the federal level. MoveOn boasts more than 600K members in these 18 “Complicit Caucus” districts, who are engaging in the effort to create real political consequences for these Republican elected officials.
