Nevada Election Chief Blocks Inspection of Suspect Voter Names in Swing State

Nevada’s top election official told local election directors not to investigate the names of thousands of people who left the state but remain on its voter rolls. The watchdog group Citizens Outreach Foundation recently sued four jurisdictions in Nevada to force a review of the voter registration lists.  The plaintiff, responding to an August memo from the office of Nevada Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar, a Democrat, asks that the court order the local offices to process or review challenges to some voters’ names. Secret Service Whistleblowers Say Acting Chief Cut Security Assets

Just days after Ronald Rowe, acting director of the Secret Service, denied playing a direct role in rejecting repeated requests for added security measures and assets to protect former President Donald Trump, whistleblowers came forward to refute those claims. House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy Threatens DHS Chief Mayorkas With Impeachment

House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy announced Tuesday from the border in El Paso, Texas, that the House’s new Republican majority will launch an impeachment inquiry into Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Survey: Half of federal chief data officers are unclear about responsibilities

Chief data officers in federal agencies have been in the government for a long time, but that doesn’t mean they are clear on their responsibilities. That’s according to a recent survey of CDOs conducted by the Data Foundation. The chief data officer role in federal agencies was established in 2018 by an act of Congress.
