This Debt Crisis Is Not Like 2011’s. It’s Worse.

On its surface, the unfolding debt-ceiling crisis looks a lot like the confrontation in 2011 between congressional Republicans and then-President Barack Obama. Once again, a new GOP majority in the House is using the threat of a national default as leverage to force a first-term Democratic president to agree to spending cuts in exchange for lifting the federal borrowing limit. A first-ever default could crash the markets and trigger a recession. But, as in 2011, the two parties remain far apart, with a deadline to act approaching rapidly. Eric Cantor…

NPR Peddles Propaganda for the Regime. It’s Past Time to Pull its Funding.

Why should American taxpayers be on the hook to pay for a highly partisan and ideological media outlet? That’s an important discussion to be had after Twitter last week slapped a “state affiliated media” tag on National Public Radio’s Twitter profile. The move was met with much anger and frothing. “NPR and our member stations are supported by millions of listeners who depend on us for the independent, fact-based journalism we provide,” John Lansing, NPR’s president and CEO, said in a statement. “NPR stands for freedom of speech and holding…

COVID-19 National Emergency Is (Nearly) Over. It’s Time for States to Roll Back Biden’s Welfare Expansion.

The official end of the COVID-19 emergency is near.  That’s good news. It’s now up to the states to finish the job. The House of Representatives voted Feb. 1 on a joint resolution ending the national COVID-19 emergency and a bill to terminate Health and Human Services’ public health emergency declaration. It’s Joe Manchin’s America

On March 6, 2021, Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia delivered the decisive 50th Democratic vote to help pass President Joe Biden’s $ 1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan. The stimulus package provided relief checks to most American families, expanded a child tax credit to combat poverty, and bolstered federal support to fight the coronavirus pandemic. That moment briefly raised hopes on the left that Manchin, a centrist if not conservative Democrat, would back Biden’s fledgling effort to usher in a progressive economic transformation not seen since the New Deal. Yet…

So tell us what the schedule for that would look…

It’s Time to Go on ‘Offense Every Single Day for the Unborn,’ Heritage’s Kevin Roberts Says

It is time for America to recognize that “abortion, just like slavery, is one of the greatest human evils that humans have ever experienced in world history,” Kevin Roberts, president of The Heritage Foundation, said to a crowd of pro-life students and advocates Saturday.  It’s time for the pro-life community to be on “offense every single day for the unborn and moms and dads and families in America,” Roberts said.   The president of The Heritage Foundation, a Washington, D.C.-based think tank, spoke to pro-life activists on the main stage…
