MoveOn: Getting Rid of Noem Doesn’t Justify More DHS Funding
WASHINGTON – In response to President Donald Trump’s firing of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem today, MoveOn Civic Action spokesperson Britt Jacovich released the following statement:
“Kristi Noem ran the DHS with impunity, violence, and an undeniable allegiance to Donald Trump. She deserves to be ousted, but her firing won’t stop the bloodshed and bullets at the hands of an out-of-control immigration enforcement agency. Changing DHS’s leadership won’t create ICE and CBP accountability as long as Congress signs off on more blank checks to fund them. Noem’s firing cannot be used to justify Congress giving one more dime to an agency responsible for wreaking terror in our communities.”
