Sanctuary Cities—A Dangerous Game We All Lose: The BorderLine

All across America, people are feeling the effects of four years of mass immigration parole programs and the release at the border of millions of aliens we know nothing verifiable about. Many aliens head for big cities that have adopted “sanctuary” policies, whereby their police officers and prosecutors don’t cooperate with federal authorities on immigration enforcement. The most common outcome of this noncooperation is that when Immigration and Customs Enforcement issues a detainer asking local law enforcement to hand over a suspect or convict rather than cut him loose, they…

Young, Black, Hispanic Americans Would Opt Out of Social Security Even If It Weren’t Broken

I pull the following directly from the summary of the 2024 annual reports of the Social Security and Medicare Boards of Trustees: The Old-Age and Survivors Insurance (OASI) Trust Fund (that is, Social Security) will be able to pay 100% of total scheduled benefits until 2033, unchanged from last year’s report. At that time, the fund’s reserves will become depleted and continuing program income will be sufficient to pay 79% of scheduled benefits. Our Social Security system is broke. Bragg Won’t Drop Trump’s ‘Hush Money’ Sentencing, But May Suspend It for 4 Years

THE CENTER SQUARE—Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said Tuesday that his office will oppose President-elect Donald Trump’s motion to dismiss his felony conviction in New York. Bragg said that despite plans to oppose Trump’s motion, his office would agree to hit pause on the proceedings pending the judge’s decision on Trump’s motion to dismiss. Bragg also suggested the case could wait until Trump finishes his term in the White House.  “No current law establishes that a president’s temporary immunity from prosecution requires dismissal of a post-trial criminal proceeding that was initiated…

Reclaiming the American Frontier Spirit

The following is an excerpt from Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts’ new book, “Dawn’s Early Light: Taking Back Washington to Save America,” released Nov. 12. Have you ever driven through a blizzard in Wyoming? Your field of vision doesn’t extend more than twenty feet. There are only the storm and the road, except for the occasional butte or buffalo. Silence descends on the glacier-carved valleys as ice and snow pile up and muffle all sound. The grizzlies seek shelter. You want to do the same. The frontier is dangerous. It…

Voters in Kamala Harris’ Hometown Smack Down Initiative to Tax Natural Gas Use

DAILY CALLER NEWS FOUNDATION—Voters in Berkeley, California, soundly rejected a proposal that would have required owners of certain larger buildings to pay a fee in order to use natural gas. Measure GG would have required owners of multifamily or commercial buildings larger than 15,000 square feet to pay up in order to use natural gas. It failed with 68.25% of voters moving to reject the measure, according to Alameda County election data. Environmentalists and labor unions advocated for “Measure GG” on the grounds that reducing emissions from buildings is imperative to fight climate…
