2 US Service Academies End Minor in Diversity and Inclusion

THE CENTER SQUARE—West Point Military Academy and the Air Force Academy have both ended their “Diversity and Inclusion Studies” minors. As late as Jan. 8, West Point, based in New York, offered its diversity, equity, and inclusion minor, while as of Jan. 9 the Air Force Academy, based in Colorado, still offered its DEI minor, according to internet archives. Currently, a minor in “Diversity and Inclusion Studies” is no longer listed on either service academy’s website. The Ludicrous Reason Hollywood Barred ‘Reagan’ From a Best Picture Nomination

No conservative could honestly have expected the 2024 biopic “Reagan” to be a viable contender for Best Picture at the 2025 Oscars. Ultraliberal Hollywood could never honor a film that dares to depict our 40th president as a hero. But the fact that it’s officially ineligible for nomination because it doesn’t meet new diversity requirements? What an indictment of the industry that, ironically, catapulted Ronald Reagan onto the public stage years before he ran for office. This is political correctness on steroids. To be eligible now for a Best Picture…

‘It’s the Right Thing’: GOP Lawmakers React to Trump’s Pardon of Jan. 6 ‘Political Prisoners’

President Donald Trump kicked off his second term this week by pardoning the more than 1,500 Americans charged with crimes in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol protest. Pardoning the Jan. 6 prisoners is “another promise made, promise kept from the president,” Rep. Andrew Clyde, R-Ga., told The Daily Signal.  “It is shameful right now to see that there are still people that, four years later, have not had a fair trial, have not had a trial at all,” he said.  All Americans have a constitutional right to…

Time for Trump-Hating Hollywood Lefties to Make Good on Vow to Leave the Country

Cher has a new autobiography, “The Memoir,” which runs just over 400 pages, but apparently, that’s only half the story. We know that because the subtitle of the book, published in mid-November, is “Part 1.” “Part 2”—due out in mid-November 2025, but already available online for preorder by Cher’s biggest fans—presumably will be equally hefty. Why else would there be a second volume coming? The pop diva, 78, apparently is trying to give fellow chanteuse Barbra Streisand, 82, who in November 2023 came out with an autobiography of her own,…

Hegseth Is Right About DEI: US Military Faces Historic Recruiting Crisis Because of It

A focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion has damaged the effectiveness of the U.S. military and hurt recruitment numbers. Members of the Senate Armed Services Committee grilled President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for secretary of defense, Pete Hegseth, on Tuesday. One exchange in particular highlighted the wrongheaded thinking that infects some in the current U.S. leadership and how it addresses the military’s challenges. Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I., the ranking member of the panel, said in hostile questioning of Hegseth that the military is “more diverse than it has ever been” and…

TRUMP EFFECT: Meta Announces End to DEI Programs

The Trump Effect is in full swing before the new president even takes office.  Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced Friday that the company would end its major diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. Meta put out a memo to employees explaining the move, which was published by Axios. “The legal and policy landscape surrounding diversity, equity and inclusion efforts in the United States is changing,” the memo reads. “The Supreme Court of the United States has recently made decisions signaling a shift in how courts will approach DEI. It reaffirms long…
