‘Decade of decline’ for U.S. military tees up likely campaign clash for 2024

The Army doesn’t have enough soldiers, the Navy’s fleet is half the size it was during the Cold War, and Air Force pilots aren’t getting the flight time needed to maintain their edge. That’s the stark conclusion of the latest ranking of U.S. military strength from the Heritage Foundation think tank, which says a “decade of decline” has left America’s armed forces with a “weak” rating for the second year in a row, despite Congress allocating more than $ 800 billion last year on national defense. Congressional repeal of Social Security’s ‘evil twins’ nears finish line

The possibility of repealing Social Security’s so-called ‘evil twins” is closer than ever to the finish line. There are now 303 House cosponsors on the Social Security Fairness Act. MoveOn Responds to Reports of No Labels Plans to Run an All-Republican “Unity Ticket”

Washington, D.C. – In response to news from HuffPost that No Labels is considering putting forward a so-called “unity,” all-Republican ticket, MoveOn Political Action Chief Communications Officer Joel Payne released the following statement: “No Labels is living in a fantasy world where an all-Republican ticket is ‘bipartisan’ and a third-party ticket with no strategy can win 270 electoral votes. That means No Labels wants to run a national ticket that is hostile to reproductive rights, hostile to workers’ rights, hostile to the interests of young voters, and silent on climate…
