Sen. Grassley puts hold on Biden’s deputy VA pick

The federal government is setting a new record for overall small business contract spending. More than a quarter of federal contracting dollars went to small businesses last year. That is well above a 23% goal set governmentwide. Ten agencies earned an A-plus on the Small Business Administration’s contracting scorecard, and another 10 received A’s. The Long-Shot Candidate Who Has the White House Worried

Pull up a sticky green lawn chair, everyone. It’s time for another round of Mounting Democratic Jitters, cherished summer pastime from Wilmington to the West Wing. Far-Left Hate Group Attacks Vance Bill, Falsely Claims Kids Can’t Get Trans Procedures

A far-left, pro-transgender group is attacking legislation put forward by Republican Ohio Sen. JD Vance that would ban euphemistic “gender-affirming care” for children, such as transgender surgeries, hormones, and puberty blockers. GLAAD, formerly known as the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, is a defender of the anti-Catholic “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence,” a group of trans-identifying and queer activists who mock the Catholic faith, including with sexual depictions of Jesus Christ’s death. GLAAD also has strongly objected to the removal of explicit and pornographic books from school libraries. The organization…

This third-party bid is not some fly-by-night operation trying to promote bipartisan progress. Cloaked in mystery, the group won’t disclose their donors and has yet to offer…

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House passed a sweeping defense bill Friday that provides an expected 5.2% pay raise for service members but strays from traditional military policy with Republicans add-ons blocking abortion coverage, diversity initiatives at the Pentagon and transgender care that deeply divided the chamber. Democrats voted against the package, which had sailed out of the House Armed Services Committee on an almost unanimous vote weeks ago before being loaded with the GOP priorities during a heated late-night floor debate this week. The final vote was 219-210, with four…
