The Only Sin That Republicans Can’t Forgive

The fall of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy today demonstrated again that the one sin that cannot be forgiven in the modern Republican Party is being seen as failing to fight the Democratic agenda by any means necessary. Of all the accusations that could be leveled against McCarthy, the notion that he was insufficiently committed to battling Democrats would not seem high on the list. As the GOP minority leader in the previous Congress, McCarthy voted to reject the 2020 election results in two key states and tried to impede the…

Trump Isn’t Only One Facing Double Standards of Justice

It’s not just Donald Trump who is experiencing two standards of justice in America these days.  In a monologue last week, Tucker Carlson highlighted other examples of a judicial double standard. He referred to the case of Douglass Mackey, who posted a satirical meme about voting by text message and is now facing up to 10 years in prison after being convicted by a New York state jury. Then he noted Kristina Wong, who similarly posted a meme about texting your vote, and yet has faced no legal consequences.  …

McCarthy had to literally beg his most hated Republican foe, Representative Matt Gaetz of Florida, for the deciding vote, and a fight nearly broke out on the House floor.…

Only 35% vaccinated Americans have sought boosters, despite Biden’s omicron warnings

Nearly two in three vaccinated Americans haven’t received a COVID-19 booster despite President Biden’s repeated push to shore up waning protection and fend off the omicron variant that’s blanketed the country, raising questions about public enthusiasm for more shots. About 73 million people, or 35% of the 207 million people … The Washington Times stories: White House
