Biden’s ‘Big Build’

When President Joe Biden visits South Carolina to tout a new solar-energy-manufacturing facility today, he will underscore a striking pattern: Some of the biggest winners from his economic agenda have been Republican-leaning places whose political leaders have consistently opposed his initiatives. Centered on a trio of bills Biden signed in his first two years, the president’s economic program has triggered what could become the most concentrated burst of public and private investment since the 1960s. The twin bills Biden signed in 2022 to promote more domestic production of clean energy…

NDAA backs State Dept efforts to build up workforce, modernize diplomatic mission

Congress is backing many of the State Department’s plans to modernize its workforce and bring its diplomatic corps into the 21st century in the latest defense policy bill. The fiscal 2023 National Defense Authorization Act lawmakers passed this week directs the department to keep the House and Senate up to date on its plans to stand up its Bureau of Cyberspace and Digital Policy, as well as provide updates on its hiring efforts. The NDAA specifically requires the department to inform lawmakers how well it’s meeting its long-term goal of…

Democrats Try to Build Back (A Bit) Better

President Joe Biden’s economic agenda might be back from the dead. If the original proposal was Build Back Better, this is more like Build Back a Bit. And he did raise money—more than $ 25 million, in fact. The problem was that not much wall got built, and now Kolfage is pleading guilty to fraud charges…

Manchin’s Opposition to Build Back Better Boondoggle Infuriates Unhinged Left

Democrats are responding in typical fashion to Sen. Joe Manchin’s promised “no” vote on President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better Act: They are foaming at the mouth. According to Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., “It’s an example of Joe Manchin, as a white man, showing that he doesn’t care about black people. He doesn’t care about Latinos. He doesn’t care about immigrants. He doesn’t care about women, and he doesn’t care about the poor.” Bowman echoed Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., who said, “Joe Manchin’s opposition to the Build Back Better Act…
