100k Signers Agree: No President Should Have “Absolute Immunity”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – As the Supreme Court holds oral arguments this week on twice-impeached and criminally indicted former President Donald Trump’s absurd legal argument that anyone who’s been president has “absolute immunity” from prosecution for any crimes they commit, nearly 100,000 people have signed MoveOn’s petition calling on the Supreme Court to rule against his appeal.

Said MoveOn Political Action Executive Director Rahna Epting, “Once again, Donald Trump is shamelessly looking for a bailout from the MAGA majority on the court. Nobody is above the law, and especially not Trump. A D.C. court has already agreed that his ‘absolute immunity’ argument is wrong, and the American public has made it clear that a second Trump term would be dangerous. The Supreme Court should rule as such.

“But no matter what the MAGA majority of the Supreme Court decides, MoveOn members will work tirelessly to stop Trump from being elected again.”
