Insisting Law School Students Respect 1st Amendment Is Akin to ‘McCarthyism,’ Bloomberg Columnist Claims

A Bloomberg Law columnist is upset that students at Yale Law School didn’t protest the First Amendment and shout down an invited speaker, James Ho, a Trump-appointed judge who sits on the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. On March 15, Ho spoke at Yale Law School, and according to Vivia Chen’s opinion essay, his commentary went uninterrupted by angry student protesters. Following closely on the heels of another Trump-appointed 5th Circuit judge, Kyle Duncan, being shouted down by Stanford Law students, the fact that Ho’s speech was able to…

CDC Urges Teachers, Administrators, School Nurses to Adopt LGBT Curriculum, Endorse Transgender Identity

Just days after Christmas, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention republished a “self-assessment tool” urging teachers, administrators, school health staff, and others to become an “awesome ally” by advocating for LGBT causes in school. The document cites multiple LGBT activist groups, including a division of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). Cross-Dressing Book Given to Pre-K Pupils Forces School District to Revamp Vetting Process

A school district that gave preschoolers a book on cross-dressing has changed its procedures for giving out books after news of the incident surfaced late last month. Apparent Victory Rings Hollow for Group Opposing School Choice

The effort to block a massive expansion of education choice in Arizona appears to be running out of steam. Beth Lewis, executive director of the anti-school choice group Save Our Schools Arizona, or SOS, put on her best game face Friday afternoon as she announced that her group has gathered enough signatures to put the recent expansion of Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Account program on the ballot for voters to decide. But it wasn’t hard to detect Lewis’ disappointment. Earlier this summer, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, a Republican, signed a bill…

By Inserting Gender Identity, Team Biden Muddies Title IX’s Protections for Girls, Women at School

On the 50th anniversary of Title IX protections for girls and women, the Biden administration proposed rule changes in enforcing the law that would have dramatic repercussions for publicly funded schools around the country. The Education Department released a 700-page document Thursday announcing the proposed changes to Title IX regulations. Perhaps most significantly, the changes would extend the prohibition of discrimination based on sex to include sexual orientation and gender identity. It’s amazing how at this stage in the history of our republic, sweeping national social and political changes increasingly…
